Terms of Service

Welcome to Tips & Needles LeatherCraft. By placing an order, enrolling in a workshop, or using our services, you confirm that you have read and agree to the following terms. All prices are quoted in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD). We reserve the right to amend these terms and our prices at any time without prior notice.

1. Handmade Leather Made-to-Order

  1. All made-to-order products are custom-made to order. Once your order is confirmed and production has begun, cancellations, refunds, and changes to the design are not accepted.
  2. Leather is a natural material; the colour, grain, wax-and-oil finish, and oil content may vary slightly from hide to hide. Colours shown on screen may also differ slightly from the actual product. This is normal and is not considered a defect.
  3. Handmade items may show slight asymmetry or marks from hand-stitching or edge-finishing, which are part of the character of handcrafted work.
  4. Production typically takes about 2–4 weeks (depending on the design and our current schedule). We will notify you via WhatsApp once your item is ready.
  5. Embossing, gold foiling, and silver foiling are permanent processes; once production is confirmed they cannot be changed, so please double-check your wording when placing your order.
  6. Please arrange collection or shipping of your finished item within 30 days of our notification. For items not collected in time, we will do our best to follow up but cannot accept responsibility for long-term storage.

2. Leathercraft Workshops

  1. Enrolment requires payment of half of the workshop fee as a deposit, with the balance payable on the day of the class.
  2. Deposits, once paid, are non-refundable. To reschedule, please notify us via WhatsApp at least 3 working days before your class; one free reschedule is allowed, and any further rescheduling may require separate arrangement.
  3. The class date and time slot are subject to our final confirmation via WhatsApp; late arrivals cannot be extended or made up, and unexcused absence on the day is treated as forfeiture, with the deposit non-refundable.
  4. For safety, all cutting is handled by the instructor, and students do not need to handle any blades throughout the class.
  5. Some leathers (such as chrome-tanned leather) need to remain at the studio after class for edge-finishing, taking about 1–2 days; once complete, collection or shipping can be arranged.
  6. Finished pieces belong to the student; the techniques and designs taught in class are for the student's personal use only.

3. Designer Leather Goods Repair · Cleaning · Restoration

  1. All repair, cleaning, and restoration services are offered on a quotation basis. Please send photos of the item via WhatsApp for a preliminary quote; the final price and feasibility are confirmed after we inspect the item in person.
  2. Repairs generally take about 4 weeks (depending on the complexity of the project and the availability of parts).
  3. Leather and hardware may show wear from long-term use or natural ageing, and some of this may not be fully restorable. We will do our best to restore your item to its best possible condition and will explain the achievable result before starting work.
  4. Our repair service is an independent third-party care service and has no affiliation or partnership with any brand's original manufacturer.
  5. SF Express delivery is welcome; return shipping is free for repairs totalling HK$1,000 or more.
  6. Please collect your finished item within 30 days of our notification; for items not collected within 90 days, we cannot accept responsibility for their storage.

4. General Terms

  1. We do our best to ensure the information on this website is accurate but do not guarantee it is entirely free of error; we reserve the right to correct any errors.
  2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant order or service.
  3. These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong SAR.
